European Conference on Developmental Psychology 2027
Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of the European Association of Developmental Psychology (EADP) and the local organising committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the next European Conference on Developmental Psychology (ECDP), to be held in Florence in 2027.
We are honoured to welcome the ECDP community to the University of Florence, an institution deeply rooted in the history of European scholarship and actively engaged in contemporary research, teaching, and international collaboration. The conference will provide a vibrant forum for researchers, practitioners, early-career scholars, and students to exchange ideas, present new findings, and discuss current challenges in developmental psychology. In a time marked by rapid social, technological, educational, and cultural transformations, our field has a crucial role in understanding development across the lifespan and in promoting well-being, inclusion, and positive relationships in diverse contexts.
ECDP is the official conference of the European Association of Developmental Psychology, a dynamic and highly innovative association, that continuously strives to serve its members and provide ample opportunities for exchange and networking.
The conference in Florence will be an outstanding example of these efforts, offering a variety of presentation and discussion formats, a summer school for early-career researchers, as well as pre-conference presentations and workshops. Our aim is to organize a conference that embraces diverse perspectives in terms of theories and methods, as well as the populations studied and the scholars conducting this research. We believe that such diversity can stimulate novelty and creativity, making research findings more contextualized, nuanced, and meaningful. We are convinced that this conference will leave long-lasting impressions, foster new and innovative networks, and have a meaningful impact on researchers’ careers for years to come.
Florence will offer an inspiring setting for these conversations. Known worldwide for its artistic heritage, humanistic tradition, and openness to international exchange, the city invites reflection on the links between past and future, continuity and innovation, individual development and collective life. We hope that the atmosphere of Florence, together with the scholarly community of EADP, will make the conference both scientifically stimulating and personally memorable.
